Reception halls, dates, and waiting...
So, Kris and I have been trying to lock down a date and place for our wedding for a little under a month now… We have found it to be a bit of a trying task. After lots of online research, phone calls, on-site visits, and tense conversations between the two of us we think we have it narrowed down to a top two.
For those of you who have been kept up to date, we regret to inform you that it appears the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Hamilton is no longer an option. L However, we’re now looking into the possibility of a reception of the Fitton Center which may be equally nice. (Thanks to Kelli for calling on her connections in the area to try to help us out!) If the Fitton Center doesn’t work out for some reason, then we still have an equally beautiful back up plan at a hall overlooking a golf course near my parent’s house. Both are great options! And we’re happy to have good choices! Now about that date…
Again, for those of you in the know, you might remember that we were originally targeting a date of May 15, 2010 (since that was almost exactly a year to the date when Kris proposed – a fact that may serve as a helpful clue to a future fact or crap question!). That was also a very special day because it is Fred and Andrea’s (Kris’s aunt and uncle’s) wedding anniversary! While we would love to share that special day with the two of them, budget takes precedence (sorry!). Based on discounted reception sites and cheaper honeymoon flights and better hall availability – and an overall sense of wanting to get started on our lives together as soon as possible - we are now looking at dates in early March.
We’re hoping to get this all squared away before we head to Hilton Head Island with Mike, Kelli, and the boys at the end of next week but… Based on our experience so far, I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you. We will definitely keep you posted as we get close to finalizing the plans!
